The islands hold many memories for us: walking barefoot 12 months of the year,
sand on the floor of the car, falling asleep to the sound of the trade winds blowing
through the bamboo in the neighbors yard and especially the magical aroma
of good home cooked island food.
For most Island kids food surrounded us from day one. It began in the home; mom and the
aunties casually cooking. It continued in the cafeterias (Hawaii's school cafeterias are awesome)
where someone else's aunty was cooking up the grinds. And it all culminated at the plate
lunch restaurant where "aunty" and "uncle" served you up what you had grown to
love.
It is with these memories that we offer you our versions of old island classics.
Served to you like we have it back home.
